A rich heritage of Russian music interpreted by by excellent Madison musicians

On this CD distinguished oboist Mark Fink and the UW–Madison Russian Folk Orchestra revive the rich heritage of Russian music. Three original arrangements by Victor Gorodinsky highlight great Russian composers of the twentieth century.

Marc Fink has been the faculty oboist at the University of Wisconsin–Madison since the fall of 1973. He is principal oboist with the Madison Symphony Orchestra and has served as president of the International Double Reed Society. Dmitri Novgorodsky is professor of piano at Lawrence Conservatory in Appleton, Wisconsin.
