The University of Wisconsin Press
announces a new book series
THE UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN
PRESS POETRY SERIES
Series Editor: Ronald
Wallace, English, University of WisconsinMadison
This series features new books
of poetry by past winners of the
Brittingham Prize in poetry and
past winners of the
Felix Pollak Prize in Poetry, two of the
premier such prizes in the country. Established in 1985 and 1994
respectively, the Brittingham and
Pollak Prize competition attracts over 800 manuscript submissions
annually, from the best new and established poets writing today.
The new Series will solicit work from the twenty-nine previous
winners of this competition, showcasing their current work, and
reflecting the exciting and varied directions contemporary poetry
is taking. The expanded University of Wisconsin Press Poetry
Series will thus continue to welcome poets new to the Press through
the annual competitions, while supporting the winners' further
development by publishing subsequent books. The resulting series
will make available the best poetry being written in America
today.
